Introduction to Digital Photography

This is one-day, hand-on workshop led by artist photographer Karolina Ostrowska, will show how to get the best out from your DSLR camera.
Learn how to use your Digital SLR camera or Mirrorless camera for creative photography.
Camera and photography basics such as manual function, understanding the light and exposure; manual settings including: Aperture, Shutter Speed & ISO; a guide to the principles of better composition; file formats (RAW+JPEG).
The goal of this workshop is that you will learn all the basic principles of digital photography, how your camera works and how to use it to achieve the images that you want.
You will develop a good understanding of your camera while exploring the characteristic elements of photography: light and shadow, colour and composition.
You will put what you have learned into practice by getting around of Ballina Arts Centre and to shoot photographs under Karolina's guidance.
What do you need to bring?
Bring your own camera with manual mode, memory card and batteries.
The notes will be made available but it’s a good idea to bring a pen and notepad.
Previous experience is not necessary for this course!
The workshop takes place in Ballina Arts Centre.
